Anniversary Statement: Europa XS, G-BZNY
Fatal accident, Sherburn-in-Elmet Airfield, North Yorkshire, 2 November 2025
This statement provides an update on the AAIB investigation into the loss of control of Europa XS, G-BZNY, during takeoff on 2 November 2025.
Immediately after takeoff, the aircraft pitched up into a high nose up attitude. The aircraft departed controlled flight and struck the ground on the airfield.
The investigation into this accident is well advanced and the final report will be issued in due course.
